We are looking for a skilled and motivated Account Executive to manage and grow an existing portfolio of clients within the Scotch Whisky Industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a proven track record in commercial insurance to leverage their expertise in a specialised and expanding market. You will inherit an established book of clients, providing a strong foundation to build relationships, deliver exceptional service, and drive further business development. Please note this is a full-time, permanent opportunity. You will be based from our Glasgow office. The role has a travel remit to meet clients on a regular basis. Key Responsibilities: Manage and service an existing portfolio of Scotch Whisky Industry clients, including distilleries, bottlers, distributors, bonded warehouse operators, brokers and associated businesses. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing expert advice on insurance products, risk management strategies, and industry-specific exposures (e.g., property, stock, business interruption, liability, and transit risks). Conduct thorough risk assessments and collaborate with underwriters to design tailored insurance solutions that meet the unique needs of each client. Retain and grow the client book through proactive relationship management, regular reviews, and identifying cross-selling or upselling opportunities. Stay informed of trends, regulations, and challenges within the Scotch Whisky Industry to provide informed and forward-thinking recommendations. Handle renewals, negotiate terms with insurers, and ensure timely delivery of policies and documentation. Work closely with internal teams, including claims specialists and technical advisors, to resolve client issues efficiently and effectively. Contribute to business development initiatives by identifying new prospects within the Scotch Whisky sector and supporting pitch preparation where required. Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards. What We?re Looking For: Proven experience as an Account Executive or similar role within commercial insurance, ideally with exposure to niche or specialised industries. Strong understanding of insurance products and risk management principles relevant to manufacturing, production, or distribution sectors (experience with food and beverage or whisky-related businesses is a plus). Excellent client-facing skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term relationships. A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under deadlines. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with confidence in dealing with senior stakeholders and insurers. Knowledge of the Scotch Whisky Industry or a keen interest in learning its intricacies is highly desirable. Proficiency in insurance broking software and Microsoft Office Suite. Qualifications: Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent). A levels or equivalent (desirable). Relevant insurance qualifications (e.g., Cert CII, Dip CII, or equivalent) are preferred but not essential if experience is substantial. What do we offer in return? A career that you define.
