Reporting to the Senior Manager you can expect to be involved in carrying out the audit work including planning and completion on a broad range of clients, including assisting trainees and reviewing their work. This is a client facing role with opportunity to establish strong relationships across our extensive portfolio of audit clients in the SME sector. The level of responsibility will vary depending on level however you can expect to be involved in the following: take a lead or manage the audit process from planning through to completion and review the work of more junior colleagues. User knowledge of both FRS102 and FRS an advantage undertake non audit assignments, including accounts preparation and tax computations prepare a job to meaningful and realistic budgets, liaising with Manager on any issues demonstrate good utilisation of relevant software demonstrate an awareness and some understanding of the clients business and manage each job to ensure client expectations and deadlines are met assist in the development of others, particularly trainees through providing thoughtful feedback on jobs, offering coaching and support as necessary and supporting the Senior Manager with useful, constructive feedback as appropriate sharing best practice and ideas within the team for process improvement and development of each other communicate verbally and in writing with clients effectively manage Partner and Manager expectations, communicating regularly on progress of jobs About you ? We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience: AAT/ACA/ACCA qualified minimum of 2-3 years PQE with experience of working in Audit within an accountancy practice up to date with current auditing and accounting issues and conversant with relevant auditing and accounting standards, company law etc. good tax knowledge, in particular corporation tax and an awareness of VAT and payroll taxes advantageous Experience with Iris, my working papers advantageous excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral analytical skills and attention to detail and ability to think laterally to be capable of identifying potential problems and providing solutions show initiative, exercise judgement and take ownership of tasks from start to finish experience of working on a wide range of clients computer literate including good Excel experience.
