Description We are working on behalf of a valued client to recruit an accomplished and driven Financial Controller. This is a key leadership role within the finance team, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of a dynamic organisation. This role is based in Speke, Liverpool Role Overview: As Financial Controller, you will report directly to the Directors, taking full responsibility for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management. You will play a pivotal role in the company?s ambitious plans to grow from 21M to 50M in revenue over the next five years, driving efficiency and strategic decision-making while ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Key Responsibilities: Lead the financial team to ensure KPIs are met and align with the business plan. Oversee month-end processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Prepare comprehensive management packs and executive summaries for the Board. Provide financial analysis and recommendations for key business investments. Develop budgets and forecasts, identifying and addressing variances. Implement and manage internal systems, processes, and controls to optimise efficiency. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and VAT regulations. Manage daily cash flow, banking relationships, and financing solutions. Mentor and develop the finance team, ensuring consistent performance and growth. Support year-end audits and prepare accurate year-end financial statements. Requirements The ideal candidate will possess the following: Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a strong track record in financial control and management reporting. Expertise in handling imports/exports, VAT, Intrastat, and related financial processes. Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills. Exceptional organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail. Strong leadership and team management capabilities. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels. Proven ability to analyse and improve systems, processes, and financial strategies.
