Job Purpose: To assist with the ordering, storing and distributing of all supplies and equipment required by the Fleet Management Department in a cost effective and efficient manner assisting in the efficient maintenance of the Vehicle Fleet. Knowledge & Experience: A comprehensive knowledge of motor vehicles parts in order to provide an effective fleet supplies service. Must be able to work, on occasions, unsupervised. An intermediate understanding of vehicle technology to enable liaison with service providers and suppliers. Must possess a high level of interpersonal skills with good oral and written skills in order to interact at all levels of with colleagues and suppliers. Excellent organisational skills in order to provide a comprehensive stores service and keep appropriate records. A working knowledge of COSHH Regulations, to advise customers on the usage of dangerous substances. IT competent to a basic level or above to operate the vehicle fleet management computer system and the Force?s internal computer systems Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel & Power Point. Must be motivated, flexible, work within agreed timescales and using own initiative to meet the needs of the fleet services department. A driving licence is essential (cat B) to enable the post holder to collect & deliver fleet supplies as required by the vehicle fleet department.
