About the role With our recent acquisition of the Co-operative Bank, we want to build on our progress in sustainability, setting a combined vision for the Group. This is an exciting opportunity to join us as Head of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance), leading our work in this area. Reporting to the Group Chief People Officer, you?ll be responsible for developing the ESG strategy across the Group and will set plans to drive delivery in line with this strategy. You?ll engage stakeholders, reflect their views in the ESG strategy and ensure that this helps to shape the wider organisational strategy. Leading a specialist team of ESG professionals, you?ll drive the implementation of the ESG roadmaps that will maintain our great momentum. You?ll drive and embed the creation of a continuous improvement mind-set within the ESG function and provide ongoing communication of the progress of initiatives to Board and executives. You?ll represent the Coventry Building Society and Co-operative Bank externally with regulators, professional bodies and industry forums to ensure insight and influence around our ESG strategy and execution. You?ll leverage your network in the sector and beyond to anticipate future changes and ensure we?re prepared. About you With a depth of experience in the ESG field, you?ll be able to demonstrate a track record of developing and delivering plans for change and crucially, measuring the impact of these changes. To be successful in this role it?s essential that you: Can create a vision for ESG and a shared understanding across stakeholder groups as to priorities and progress. Are a thought leader with the ability to shape and drive change through exceptional interpersonal, relationship building and collaboration skills. Are creative, strategic and analytical, with proven capability to shape the future of the wider organisation.
