Live a life more Virgin. Our Team Secured Credit Risk team plays a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining our retail mortgage credit risk strategy and portfolio management. The Secured Portfolio Performance and Insight team, part of the broader Secured Credit Risk team, is responsible for providing comprehensive credit risk reporting, portfolio insights, arrears and loss forecasting. You?ll be responsible for mortgage portfolio and arrears insights, delivering loss forecasts for financial and strategic plan and risk inputs for mortgage pricing models. This role offers the opportunity to influence the mortgage lending business across the credit lifecycle and provide valuable insights to the risk management leadership team, risk committees, and the wider business. What you?ll be doing Taking ownership of delivering assessments of portfolio credit quality and drivers of portfolio arrears, leading engagement across teams as required, and presenting complex findings in an engaging and articulate manner. Leading the design and development of arrears and impairment forecasting processes and managing the production and presentation of impairment forecasts for financial planning. Reviewing business plans as part of financial planning exercises and providing challenge to ensure grown initiatives are reasonable, sustainable, meets customer needs and regulatory requirements. Investigating arrears and monthly impairment movements and providing a detailed explanation for trends and variance from plan, to aid understanding of P&L reporting. Monitoring credit risk inputs to pricing models, ensuring accuracy of inputs whilst working with Commercial and Finance teams to ensure profitability of pricing proposals Translating business requirements into analytical tasks, utilising SAS and other analytical tools to perform detailed data analysis autonomously, ensuring robust controls in place to ensure accuracy. Identifying and utilise new sources of internal and external data to improve the quality of insights, working with a range of stakeholders to ensure data is understood and used appropriately. Leading engagement and collaboration with stakeholders across a wide range of areas (including Commercial, Collections Operations and Finance areas), deputising for manager as required. Presenting complex findings, insights and proposals in an engaging and articulate manner . Driving a culture of continuous improvement, rationalising processes, improving sophistication and addressing complexity across all aspects of managing the retail mortgage portfolio. We need you to have Previous experience within a credit risk environment, with strong technical abilities in SAS and SQL. A drive to delve past surface level information and understand trends from first principles. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to condense and simplify complex information to brief and influence senior stakeholders. Extensive experience in influencing change in a positive and collaborative manner and turn ideas into practical solutions. Track record in building trusted relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally. Demonstrable knowledge around creating best-in-class efficient and effective reporting suites, driving improvements and efficiencies in a portfolio management setting. Superb attention to detail, ensuring analytics produced are accurate and robust. It?s a bonus if you have but not essential Experience in retail mortgage arrears and collections management. Experience of arrears and loss forecasting, IFRS9 and IRB.
