The Vehicle Examiner will be responsible for the auditing maintenance procedures and Inspection of company commercial vehicles to Department of Transport standards. Also carrying out other related duties. This is a National role so extensive travel will be required. The working week for this role is Monday - Friday. Your Responsibilities ? To conduct safety and health audits/reviews with each vehicle workshop Supervisor and ensure compliance is upheld. ? Ensure administrative tasks are carried out within five in-house workshops and one third party workshop and they meet with regulatory standards. ? Carry out maintenance audits on the company commercial vehicle fleet Nationally. ? Safety inspections on company operated Forklift trucks at each location. ? Periodically audits driver daily walkaround checks, to ensure they are carried out as required under the terms company Operators license obligations. ? Inspections in relation to uphold company food safety standards related to bulk tanker operations. ? Carry out monthly fuel analysis/generate reports for the Distribution Director, Regional Distribution Managers and Fleet Engineer. ? Participate in cooperation with the Workshop Supervisors in updating Risk Assessments and Method Statements related to vehicle maintenance procedures. Your Profile ? City & Guilds in Motor Vehicle Engineering or recognised equivalent qualification. ? Demonstrable experience working within vehicle engineering environment ? LGV license (C E) desirable but not essential ? Competent with vehicle diagnostics ? Knowledge of bulk pressure systems (training would be provided) ? Understanding of Dept of Transport operating requirements ? A good working knowledge of Excel/Word software.
